The day after Christmas (Boxing Day) we headed on an 8 day vacation about 3 hours South of Perth to a place called the Margaret River region. We had been invited on this trip by a couple of club members, who we mostly hangout with and who have also gone out of their way to make us Americans feel welcome. We would be joining Michael Mcgowan (Quokka) and his girlfriend Cherie, Trevor Smales and his wife Bianca, and Stuart McGowan and his girlfriend Maryka. The Margaret River region is one of the better wine regions in Australia and I think has a lot of wineries that are popular globally as well. It also boasts a lot of great beaches and breweries. It’s a very popular tourist destination, and we were lucky enough to be invited along. We stayed in a town called Dunsborough and the place we were in was only a five minute walk from the beach, and five minutes from the local pub. Obviously we were in a good spot for a vacation.
